With the 2004 season ready to start on April 25th, the off-season has officially come to an end! The frigid temperatures of this winter are a distant memory and it's time for our teams to take the field and play baseball again.

This is my first season as League President. I took over for Paul Valentino who did a truly amazing (and thankless) job building our league from 4 teams to a stable 10 team league for 10 years. Paul also managed to keep the original guiding principles of the league in tact. I believe these guiding principles keep our league special and I have no intentions on changing these principles. Among the most important of these (in no particular order) is playing games only on Sundays, every player who shows up being placed in the batting order and keeping teams around the I495 belt. Paul left the league in great shape, all I hope to do is keep things running smoothly.

The only new feature for the 2004 season is the introduction of the Hall of Fame. Stan Pulnik is the head of the Hall of Fame for the league. The website will have a page listing all the Hall of Fame members. Our initial class with have 13 players inducted. Each player will receive a plaque sometime during the 2004 season. Congratulations to all the first class members!

As in our previous seasons, we will have holiday weekends off for Mother's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day and Labor Day. I look forward to another tremendous season and hope all the players and their families have a healthy and enjoyable season!
