What is the MetroWest ABL?
 
       The MetroWest Adult Baseball League is an independent baseball league located in Central Massachusetts on the 495 belt. The League plays real baseball with wood bats. The league is for players 28 years old and over. Games are nine innings except for double headers when each game is seven innings.

Where are the games played?
 
  The League plays its games in the Boston MetroWest area, typically Framingham, Ashland, Marlboro, Southboro, Wayland, Sudbury, Acton, Hudson, Holliston, Millis and Medway.

What are the eligibility requirements for players?
 
  A player is eligible to participate in an official League sanctioned game if they will be 28 years of age at any time during the calendar year of the present season. Ex-professional ballplayers are allowed to play in the league, but they can't have played professionally within the last 3 years. We don't believe the MetroWest ABL has any ex-major league baseball players.

How much does it cost to play in the MetroWest ABL?
 
  The cost for a new player is between $250 and $350 which includes a uniform. Returning players typically pay $100 less.

How many games are there in a season?
 
  Each team plays 16 regular season games, 2 games against every team in your division and one game agianst teams in the other division.
The first four teams in each division make the playoffs, with 1 versus 4 and 2 versus 3 in the first round for both divisions. The first round playoff series starts before Labor Day. The divisional game winners play the following weekend for the division championship. The winning team of each division plays to decide the Championship. All three playoff rounds are best 2 of 3 format.

When are the games and how long is the season?
 
  All games are on Sundays and the season runs from late April until late September with some Sundays off for holidays.

How many teams are in the MetroWest ABL?
 
  There are 12 teams in the league split between 2 divisions, an American and a National division. The American division consists of the As, Indians, Mariners, Orioles, Red Sox and Tigers. The National division has the Braves, Brewers, Cardinals, Cubs, Mets and Phillies.

How many players on a team?
 
  Team rosters must have at least 16 players. This helps to make sure there are enough players for each game during the vacation summer months.

What is the quality of the competition?
 
  The level of play varies, some people haven't played baseball since High School while others have college experience and even maybe minor league experience.

Are there any practices?
 
  Each team decides whether or not to hold practices, there are very few during the course of the season.
