| Roster: | Roster |
| Highlights: | Since their inaugural 1997 season in the MSBL, the Millis Braves have been one of the most consistent
teams in the league and a perennial contender for post-season baseball. A championship has eluded the Braves
to this point, but the team always is in the running and has played many big games over the years.
The 2010 season is no exception. Off to a solid 6-2 start, the Braves are well on their way to a playoff berth for the 11th out of 14 seasons. Led by selfless manager Rich Moran, the Braves have always had strong leadership. Moran has functioned as the team's starting catcher and pitcher over the years and is now back as a fulltime catcher. Once the individual season leader in RBI, Rich has always been a hard worker and does all the dirty work that does not get appreciated. Jim Callaghan was an original Brave in '97 and is still playing some good baseball. Despite lower back and shoulder issues that are in the past, Callaghan came into this season with 86 career wins on the mound which trails only Red Sox ace Steve Saraceno for all-time league victories. Callaghan has always maintained a high batting average and is usually among team leaders in extra base hits and RBI. Closer Steve Purdy has battled injuries also, but is back to throw some impact innings and provide some big offense from the middle of the order. Jamie Nix had a huge first year last season for the Braves. He led the team in most offensive categories and teamed with Callaghan and Purdy to give the Braves one of the best staffs in the league. He hopes to return to the mound later in the year while battling some shoulder problems. Center fielder Dale Bickford and infielder Mike Pietella are the sparkplugs for the Braves offense. Both have high on base percentages, are excellent baserunners and play premium defense for the Braves at very important positions. They set up Callaghan, Nix and Purdy for huge RBI opportunities. 12 year veteran Jimmy McLaughlin is back. Jim is a jack of all trades for the Braves. He is a selfless teammate who warms up pitchers and coaches the bases and still finds time to swing a clutch bat and plays any position on the field when needed. TJ May enters his sixth year playing for the Braves and is one of the most versatile players on the roster. He currently plays first base and has led stability to this very important position in the MSBL. He is also the team leader in productive at bats and never gives one away. Raul Matos is also a team veteran that is relied on heavily. Raul plays good defense in the outfield and is a very tough out at the plate. He seems to hit the better pitchers in the league the best which gives the Braves a huge boost. Kevin Spector and Mike Connolly were huge pickups for the Braves last year. Both are fundamentally sound players in all facets and great on defense in the multitude of positions each play. Along with Nix, they were the main reason that the Braves reeled off a 13-3 record last year after having losing records the two previous years. Newcomer Ted Pelecky has had a fine start to his Braves career chipping in with some clutch hits and solid defense. The Braves are also benefitting from some huge contributions from some players from their past. Eric Gordon, Ryan Scafidi and Mike Scire are all on the roster this year and have picked up where they left off when they were last active players. Though the Braves miss the contributions of Christo Lagos, Mike Londergan, Marc Sanfacon and Paul Chido, the team is playing well and excited for a postseason run. |

| Highlights: | The Cardinals are looking forward to their 18th season as part of the MWABL.
2010 marked a come-back year for the Cardinals, who finished 11-5 with the 3rd best record in the MWABL. A strong showing in the first round of the playoffs was quickly forgotten, as the team lost 2 straight to the always-tough Cubs in the semi-finals, and the season came to an end. The 2011 Cardinals will continue to build their new look on the field this year, with several new players joining the team. Additional pitching, and solid defense will solidify the Cardinals in the field, while an always improving lineup should help the team continue to drive up their run production. As always, the Cardinals are about having fun, while playing the game we all love. If you're interested in learning more about the Cardinals, please contact Andrew Calkins, Team Manager. |

The Indians entered the MSBL in 1997 made up from players the disbanded Tigers team.
Larry Rosoff replaced Mike Kelly as player/manager of the Indians in 1999. The team won five games that season, equaling the combined total of the previous two years. The Tribe increased its win total to seven games in 2000, eight in 2001 and 10 in 2002- making the playoffs all three years. In 2002 the Indians recorded their first-ever playoff victory in defeating the Mariners. In 2003, the Indians recorded their best regular season record to date, finishing 14-4. That was good for second place in the American League. The season finished on a disappointing note, however, as the third-place Mariners bounced the Tribe in the first round of the playoffs. The Indians finished an even .500 in 2004 and 2005 (9-9 both years) and lost to the Red Sox in the first round of the playoffs each season. In 2006, legendary manager Larry Rosoff handed over the reins to a triumvirate of veteran players - Craig Macauley, Mike Togneri, and Jerry Guerra. After a disappointing regular season, the Tribe dropped a 2-0 first-round elimination playoff game to eventual league champion Red Sox, leaving the bases loaded in the ninth inning. In 2007, the Indians returned to their mediocre regular-season ways with an 8-8 record. After a stunning upset of the 12-3 Orioles in the first round, the Indians fell in a doubleheader sweep to the eventual champion Red Sox. 2008 and 2009 were disappointing seasons (8-8 and 6-10 respectively) with the team missing the playoffs in 09 for the first time in several years. Mike Richards assumes management duties in 2010. The Indians play their home games at Marlboro High School's Bauks Field at 431 Bolton St. |

| Highlights: | The Holliston Mariners joined the Metro West ABL in 2000 as an expansion team consisting of former Braves members. In 2000-2001, known
as the Milford Mariners due to the domicile of the team founders, the team had no home field facility. In 2002, the Mariners obtained Holliston High School as their primary home field and officially became known as the Holliston Mariners.
As an expansion team, the Mariners struggled to a 4-14 record their first year, with only 2 wins coming on the field. A steady improvement to 6-11 in 2001 and 7-11 in 2002 saw the Mariners reach the playoffs in their third year. A close first round loss to a tough Indians team ended an otherwise superb year. With a similar record in 2003, the Mariners again made the playoffs and this time made it to the American League Championship Series where they lost two close contests to the eventual champion Orioles. Team accomplishments: 18-0 in outlasting opponents in post game revelry. |

| Highlights: | The 2011 Phillies have undergone a second straight transitional off-season. 2010 welcomed 6 new members to the team. The Phillies showed some promise but missed opportunities cost them a shot at the post season. Several Phillies veterans decided to take their games to the new 40+ league. Saying goodbye were future HOF Rick Huckins, Mark Rogers, Brian Gibbons and Coach Gerry Diluzio. Their contributions to the Phillies legacy were immense and they will be missed. A solid core remains along with some promising new additions and the expectations for the 2011 season are high. Starting pitchers Tom Dicker and Jay Skowronski lead the pitching staff while veterans Jeff Carmignani, Rob Pisano and Jim Liebowitz return to lead the offense. Second year players Chris Sheehan, Jay Morrissey, Ted Coyle and John Castanino all made solid contributions in their first full seasons and should build on that experience. The Phillies have certainly gotten younger for 2011 with new addition Stephen Rosenlund, Erik DiGuilio, Ryan McGuckin and Kevin Foley joining the fold. |
